CVSD is proud to partner with The Peyton Walker Foundation to host a heart screening clinic at Mountain View Middle School on February 1, 2025. This clinic is open to students and young adults, ages 10-22, in the Central PA area who are not currently under the care of a cardiologist and have not previously been screened by the Foundation. 🔗 Appointments are available on a first-come, first-served basis and pre-registration is required: https://bit.ly/3VEIfsH The Peyton Walker Foundation was established in honor of Peyton Walker, a 2012 Trinity High School graduate who passed away unexpectedly from sudden cardiac arrest at the young age of 19. The Foundation is offering these routine heart screening clinics at no cost to students as a means of early detection for heart-related issues.

Over winter break, Silver Spring Elementary Art Teacher Ms. Kovach and Physical Education Teacher Mr. Flom teamed up to create a heartfelt surprise for Emotional Support Teacher Ms. Lavenberg—a beautiful mural in her classroom. They carefully incorporated her favorite colors, transforming the space into a serene and peaceful environment that truly reflects the calm and kindness she brings to her work. The introduction of agriculture classes at the middle school & the official FFA chapter establishment mark a huge milestone in agricultural education! 🌱 With support from students & the community, Mrs. Jarema secured FFA Charter approval, making all AgX students official FFA members! The PA FFA State Mid-Winter Convention, attended by leaders like Secretary of Agriculture Russell Redding, celebrated this achievement as the chapter earned its charter 🙌 Shoutout to the Eagle View & Mountain View FFA leaders: Hunter, Mallory, Sloan, and Rachel! Alongside Mrs. Cole & Mrs. Jarema, they’ve created activities for 6th-8th graders to explore FFA & agriculture. Nine middle school students earned their FFA jackets through essays, and local supporters funded 28 jackets for CV FFA.
