💰 CURRENCY OF CULTURE: Hampden Elementary School's ELD students in Mrs. Banks' class took the class on a global tour! They shared money from their home countries and used their language skills to tell everyone all about the coins, bills, and their values. It was an exciting day celebrating diversity with currency from seven different countries: Nepal, India, Vietnam, Korea, Puerto Rico, Japan, and Mexico 🌏




❤ CHAMPS BEHIND THE SCENES: The countdown is on – in just TWO WEEKS, our Olympians will take over Chapman Field for our districtwide Special Olympics! 🏅 Today, a fantastic group of volunteers came together to pack gift bags, create signs, and prepare awards, all to make this day even more special for our amazing student-athletes and their buddies. Let’s give a huge shout-out to these volunteers for their dedication and hard work. 🙌
We’re beyond excited to welcome our student-athletes for a day filled with fun, competition, and lasting friendships. 🤞 Fingers crossed for sunny skies and no rain so our athletes won't have to delay their Olympic debuts 🦅








📖 VENDING A GOOD READ: Monroe Elementary School unveiled its brand-new Book Vending Machine at their Portrait of an Eagle Adaptability Assembly! Students can earn tokens through Portrait of an Eagle Certificates for the rest of the year, with even more fun additions planned for 2025-2026, including Birthday Books! 🎂

🎶 PERFECT HARMONY: To celebrate Music in Our Schools Month, fifth-grade students from Winding Creek Elementary School delivered a fantastic performance at the Board meeting on Monday, March 17. Led by Ms. Hollenberg and Ms. Snyder, their voices filled the room with joyful harmony!


🎩 HISTORY IN ACTION: Second graders at Sporting Hill Elementary wrapped up their Civil War unit with a historical blast! From donning Abraham Lincoln and Union soldier attire to playing classic games like dominoes, and even tasting hardtack, they got a hands-on history lesson they’ll never forget!
Huge thanks to Gettysburg National Military Park for generously donating the items that made this experience so engaging and interactive!

⚠️ PSA - EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS EXERCISE: Ensuring the safety and preparedness of our students, staff, community, and first responders is always our top priority. On 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝟏𝟕, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓, Mountain View Middle School will conduct an Emergency Preparedness Exercise in partnership with local, state, and federal law enforcement and emergency personnel.
🚨 Key Details:
- This is a 𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐨𝐧𝐥𝐲—there is no actual emergency.
- Only actors will be present, as the exercise will occur while schools are not in session.
- Winding Creek Elementary will be used as a staging area for emergency personnel during the drill.
- You may notice increased emergency vehicles and personnel in the area.
- Access to Winding Creek Elementary and Mountain View Middle School will be closed to the public from 8 AM to 2 PM.
This exercise is 𝐜𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜, and we appreciate your cooperation in maintaining a secure training environment.

👨🚀 ADVENTURES IN SPACE: Third-grade students at Silver Spring Elementary School had a fantastic time presenting their space projects. As part of their CKLA unit on astronomy, they researched various topics they had studied in class, such as planets, stars, and galaxies.
Each student took the time to gather information and create a presentation to share with their peers and families. It was a fun, hands-on way to wrap up the unit, and the students did an awesome job of bringing their projects to life 🚀

The students had so much fun with awesome guests like WGAL News Channel 8 Susquehanna Valley, Pa.'s Jere Gish, abc27 News's Valerie Pritchett, Coco the Bear, Rascal the Senator, Red Robin, and Blaze the Dragon! 🍕 A Slice of Fun: Students in Mrs. Herman's class at Monroe Elementary had a blast with a creative lesson thoughtfully planned by Ms. Lavoie, the Library Teaching Assistant. After reading Curious George and the Pizza Party, the fun continued as they rolled up their sleeves to create their own pizza masterpieces.
Ms. Lavoie’s creativity and efforts were key to the success of the lesson. With the help of a toaster oven generously provided by the Monroe PTO, each student baked their delicious creations and enjoyed a memorable pizza party. It was the perfect combination of learning, creativity, and, of course, tasty food 🥰






🏊♀️ DIVING INTO SUCCESS: CV Diver Mattie Boone had an outstanding performance at the 2025 PIAA District III Diving Championships this past weekend, finishing in 4th place! With this impressive finish, she punched her ticket to STATES in March— marking her second straight year earning a spot, a true testament to her skill and dedication 🏅
