Second grade took math learning outdoors while exploring army ants and measurement. Students discovered that an army ant raid front can stretch about 14 meters, then put their estimation skills to the test by figuring out how many second graders lined up would equal that distance.

Bringing Literature to Life!

Thursday night’s Literacy Night was a wonderful experience for our families! Students and their loved ones enjoyed Reader’s Theater performances, a Poetry Café, music and movement activities, engaging stories, creative crafts, and fun snacks and prizes.

Two weeks ago, our Portrait Partners gathered to create signs for students attending the Special Olympics at CVHS. Using critical thinking skills and creativity, they designed encouraging and uplifting messages to cheer on their peers.

Last night’s Knowledge-A-Thon Masters’ Dinner was a wonderful success! Our KAT Masters enjoyed a delicious Chick-fil-A meal, served by teachers and staff. We can't wait to celebrate next year's KAT Masters!

Since 1973, THON (For the Kids) has raised over $200 million to provide emotional and financial support for families, fund innovative research, and work toward a cure for pediatric cancer. These students were our top earners this year and were able to attend CVHS’s Mini-THON kickoff pep rally on Friday as a special treat. Mackenzie, Callie, Logan—and all of Monroe—are FTK… For The Kids.
