As the season reaches its midpoint, the Cumberland Valley boys lacrosse team is beginning to find its rhythm, showing steady improvement with each game. Senior captain Dom Vogel says the team has continued to grow as the season progresses, building confidence and consistency on the field. With the second half of the season ahead, the Eagles are focused on turning that progress into results.

“I would describe the team’s performance as improving with every game,” Vogel said. A big part of that success has come from the team’s ability to capitalize on fast breaks and win key ground balls, giving them more opportunities to control possession and create scoring chances. These strengths have helped Cumberland Valley stay competitive and continue developing as a unit.

Despite the progress, the team has faced challenges, particularly with playing as individuals at times rather than as a cohesive group. However, Vogel said that the team has worked hard to address this issue. “A challenge we have faced is playing as individuals at times, and we’ve worked through this by bonding as a team on and off the field,” Vogel said. This increased chemistry has started to translate into better communication and teamwork during games.

Looking ahead, Vogel has high expectations for the remainder of the season. “I’ve had district run expectations for this team, and I’d say we have the potential to far exceed that,” Vogel said. As the Eagles continue their season, their focus remains simple. “My goal for the team is to win one game at a time,” Vogel said, highlighting the team’s determination to stay focused and keep improving.
