Fresh off a state championship season, the Cumberland Valley High School volleyball team enters the spring with high expectations and a goal of continuing its success at both the district and state levels. With a balanced roster and strong team chemistry, the Eagles are focused on building off last year’s accomplishments while maintaining the energy and intensity that defined their championship run.

According to junior captain Eli Fox, the standard remains just as high this season. “The expectations are to win districts and make a state tournament run, as we won states last year,” Fox said. Much like last year’s team, this season’s group is described as balanced and unified, with players feeding off each other’s energy throughout practices and matches. Key matchups against Northeastern and North Allegheny are already circled on the schedule, as both programs are known for strong competition.

While the Eagles have championship aspirations, they understand the challenges that come with defending a title. Staying healthy and maintaining a high level of play throughout the long season will be critical. Still, players believe success will come not only from winning, but also from building team chemistry and enjoying the journey together.
