As 9th graders at Cumberland Valley High School prepare to move into the main 10–12 building next year, students are sharing what they’re most looking forward to.
Jackson Washburn said he is excited about both sports and being at the high school. “I’m looking forward to being at the high school and playing football. I feel good because I’m one step closer to graduating,” Washburn said.
Rishi Vijay, who played on the varsity soccer team as a freshman, said the move will make it easier to participate in activities. “It’ll be nice to go to the school in the same building as my teammates rather than having to bus over after school every day,” Vijay said. He also shared advice for incoming freshmen: “9th grade isn’t as hard as it seems, as long as you pick the right courses and are comfortable, you’ll enjoy it,” Vijay said.
Jacoby Weigel said he’s looking forward to being around upperclassmen. “I’m excited to be with upperclassmen and participate in school sports, but it might be hard to make it to class on time the first couple of weeks,” Weigel said. He added that freshmen should enjoy the year slowly because it goes by fast.
These 9th graders are excited to build relationships, get involved in school activities, and make the most of their first year in the 10–12 building.
