Señora Najera, a dedicated Spanish teacher with four years of experience, joined the Cumberland Valley School District in 2024. Her passion for teaching and her inspiring approach have quickly made her a beloved member of the CV community. Although this is only her second year at CV, Señora Najera has already made a lasting impression on her students.

“I’ve been teaching for about four years now, and it is my second year at CV.” she said. “ I usually get to school and start by checking my emails or messages, then I make my slides for the day and grab any papers or materials I’ll need. Once classes start, the day pretty much flies by, teaching, helping students, answering questions, and trying to stay caught up with everything going on.”

As busy as her daily routine may be, Señora Najera still finds meaning in what she does and truly cares about her students and coworkers.

“I’ve learned how important student connections are. Of course lesson plans matter, but I’ve realized that every student is going through something in life, and sometimes just being there for them makes a bigger impact than the actual lesson.” She said.

Her perspective made her classroom a space where students can feel seen, supported, and encouraged.

“I really like the students and being able to help them whenever I can. That’s definitely my favorite part. What I don’t love are some of the flaws in education. Things people don’t really see unless they work in a school. There’s also a lot of extra work that comes with the job, which can be overwhelming sometimes.” She said.

Señora Najera cherishes the amazing community that the people at CV have built.

“The people here, both students and staff, are really kind and helpful, and it just feels like everyone wants each other to succeed.” She said.
