Cumberland Valley sponsorships are making a tangible difference in our schools facilities, with upgrades like the “scoreboard in Chapman Stadium” serving as a prime example, according to Mr. Michael Dieffenbach, CV’s Director of Business Services. These improvements not only enhance functionality but also, “help to develop additional expenses and sponsorship revenue as other vendors see the opportunity available.”

More recently, the School Board had discussions about upgrading the scoreboards in both the baseball and softball venues.

Mr. Dieffenbach said, “The school district recently dedicated the Rimpfel Athletic Center and placed a sign on the building to mark the dedication. It is most appropriate to use these types of dollars for one-time purchases as compared to recurring or annual expenses.”

Looking long-term, Mr. Dieffenbach highlights that the sponsorship program is crucial for “helping to offset those large infrastructure costs” associated with maintaining the school's aging facilities.

Partnerships are often built on “established vendor relationships,” though organizations that also reach out directly. The program’s success relies on “Continued support by the vendors and their willingness to renew their contracts,” ensuring consistent revenue.

The school board rigorously approves sponsorships.

Mr. Dieffenbach said, “The Administration will make a contract recommendation to the school board for their approval. The board will then evaluate the recommendation to make sure the vendor is appropriate.”

The district also reserves the right “to terminate the advertising relationship if something bad were to happen with the advertiser.”

In essence, sponsors are directly contributing to facility improvements and crucial infrastructure maintenance, significantly benefiting the school community.
