National Merit Recognition for Eight CVHS Seniors

CV Schools

September 30, 2026

Eight Cumberland Valley High School seniors have earned one of the nation’s most prestigious academic honors: Semifinalist status in the 72nd Annual National Merit Scholarship Program!

More than 1.3 million students enter the competition each year, but less than 1% of U.S. high school seniors earn Semifinalist status. This year, eight CVHS students are among that select group (L-R):

Pranav Behal, Neil Peter, Ram Makki, Aveer Bawa, Kavish Patel, Junhee Lee, Urjit Sau, and Ashwin Sarode

These students now have the opportunity to advance to Finalist standing and compete for National Merit Scholarships in 2027. Congratulations on this exceptional achievement and well-deserved national recognition. We are #CVProud!
